ESB International is committed to being a successful, responsible and progressive company contributing to economic and social life in all countries where we operate.

Since our establishment over 35 years ago, ESBI has completed projects in 115 countries worldwide and is currently operating in over 20 countries. We are dedicated to applying good business behaviour, over and above legal requirements, to areas such as safety, environmental impact, customer service, working conditions and community involvement.

Since the launch the project by the Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources, Mr Eamon Ryan in September 2007, over 80 volunteers from across ESB have travelled to Ghana with truly amazing results.

The school has been transformed from run down partially covered classrooms with no electricity, running water or toilet facilities to a modern school complex, completely refurbished with full electrical installation in all classrooms, a state-of-the-art computer room complete with air conditioning, broadband and work stations and a full suite of educational and business software. Fifty teachers have been IT trained, ensuring enhanced possibilities for thousands of children.

This project directly benefits over 3,000 students each year but will have an incalculable long-term positive impact on the entire community of Teshie. ESB International is proud to be associated with the venture.

In November 2008, ESBI Rousch arranged a three-day free Eye Camp at the rural health centre in Abdul Hakim.

ESBI arranged for experienced and trained ophthalmologists from district headquarter hospitals to examine patients and to carry out surgery. Free consultation and medication was provided to 1,100 patients, the majority of whom were elderly and poor.

A large number of students from schools also availed of the on-the-spot eye testing facility, as this is an area of Pakistan where some students have eyesight difficulties due to malnutrition.

In addition to this, up to 130 patients were selected for cataract surgery to be carried out at the district headquarter hospital in Khanewal. ESBI is providing the medication, lenses and surgical items required for the cataract surgery at Khanewal and is also providing transport and food to patients. The local community and District Health Officer have been very receptive to the initiative.
