ESBI has a strong record in environmental responsibility, from waste recycling and the provision of environmental engineering services, right through to ISO certification of the Environmental Management Systems in our power plants and we continue to improve our performance on environmental management.
ESBI's commitment to a Sustainable Future - Wind, Wave, Tidal and Solar
ESB International is committed to developing a Renewables business of scale. We currently have over 146MW of wind power generation installed in Ireland and the UK, nearly 164MW under construction and a further pipeline of over 740MW in Ireland, UK and Spain under development.
In addition ESBI has dedicated resources focused on emerging ocean and solar technologies with a view to assisting the best potential technologies reach commercial application.
With over 6,000MW of potential wave energy off the Irish Coast, ESBI is committed to playing its part in harnessing renewable energy.
ESBI is also participating in projects related to the latest energy and carbon technologies such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), as well as investing, developing, financing and participating in greenhouse gas emission mitigation projects through ESBI Carbon Solutions.
