ESB International - Interview Tips

Application Tips - Preparing for an Interview

  • Research ESB International before the interview. This will make a positive impression on the interviewers and will help you determine whether ESBI is the right place for you. There is information on ESBI and the areas in which ESBI is involved, available on web sites, in newspapers, business magazines etc. A great starting point is the About Us section of this website.
  • Know ESBI's services and be prepared to give the interviewer substantive reasons why ESBI is attractive to you.
  • Familiarise yourself with the key duties and responsibilities of the position for which you are applying. Be able to articulate clearly why you are interested in the position and how you match the job requirements.
  • Be familiar with the contents of your CV/Resume and have concrete examples to back-up the strengths you claim to have.
  • Plan for typical questions such as: - Achievements to date - Strengths / areas which require development - Challenging situations from previous roles and/or educational experience - Working in a team environment - likes / dislikes - Why you think you would be good at this job - Long term career ambitions.
  • Your research on ESBI and the position should generate some questions about ESBI and your potential career path. Prepare some relevant questions. Asking relevant questions at the end of your interview will convey that you are genuinely interested in the position and it will also help you determine if the position is the right one for you. However this can be a balancing act. Don't ask questions for the sake of it! Only ask the question if you are genuinely seeking the information!
