What we do
ESBI Carbon Solutions develops, finances and participates in carbon and methane reduction projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
Our business strategy is to work closely with local and international asset owners, providing investment, technical and carbon expertise. We operate primarily in Southern Africa and Southeast Asia. Our partners are developers, large energy suppliers and users of new installed power capacity.
ESBI Carbon Solutions Business Model
ESBI Carbon Solutions can make equity investments and/or upfront payments for carbon credits in the following regions:
- Southeast Asia
- Southern Africa
Given our experience in power generation, we are particularly interested in the following types of projects:
- Renewables - Wind, Hydro (run of the river), Biomass, Solar, Geothermal
- Methane to Energy - Landfill Gas, Waste-water treatment
- Energy Efficiency - CHP, WHR, WGR, Fuel switching/Co-firing and other CDM eligible project activities in the power sector
ESBI Carbon Solutions develops partnerships with local counterparties with the aim of:
- Successfully developing and building renewable energy, energy efficiency and methane-to-energy projects;
- Generating Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) for ESB compliance needs;
- Expanding ESB International's geographical outreach;
- Sustainable energy generation (renewable energy), optimising energy use and/or reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
